Work on the new school building at Star of Hope's school in Taytay Rizal, a slum area on the outskirts of the Philippine capital Manila continues. Recently, the classrooms received doors and the second floor had guardrails installed. In front of the building, the walkway has been cemented, and there is more going on too.
The school is the Star of Hope's single largest project that has grown over the years. Every school year, the school welcomes around 2,000 students from preschool up to grade 10. Through a new Philippine school law, all schools that have High School (grades 7-10) must now also offer Senior High School (grades 11-12). When our new building is finished, it will be unique as there are few schools in the area that offer the entire schooling from the first year of preschool up to the last year of High School.
One of our main pillars in education.
Thank you to all the sponsors and donors who continue to support us with the construction of the new school building. The goal is to be able to offer grades 11 and 12 from the next academic year starting in June. Do you want to be involved and ensure that the school is completed on time? Among other things, we need help with school furniture and other equipment.
