Food distribution has already started!, Here is an update from Star of Hope's Myrtha Dor.
Star of Hope once again, stands with the Haitian people in their difficult moment to launch a humanitarian food distribution this week after the country was severely hit by hurricane Matthew. Since this morning, men and women are packing 31,250 lb of rice; 12,500 lb of beans; 12,500 lb of sugar; 3,750 liters of cooking oil, 7,500 bags of spaghetti and 7,500 can of fish that will be split to make 1,250 kits for families in Hesse, Dano, and Debouchette in Les Cayes. And Star of Hope Haiti is thanking everyone who has donated to make this first part of food distribution possible through Star of Hope Int. in these 3 communities out of 8.
After a week now, the victims of hurricane Matthew are starving. Despair looking at their house down to the grown, their plantations vanished and their food reserve soaked by water they are counting and waiting on us all. Even the roof of the shelter the government provided for them is gone. While they are all waiting for us to bring them food to survive, they also would like to live again their little life. Now without a decent place to sleep, food to eat and clothes to wear; victims of hurricane Matthew lost all their dignity and living under the sky like animals.
Therefore, Star of Hope is continuing to ask everyone for their contribution to donate a kit of food for $50 to a family or as many kits you can donate as we have to reach 4,000 families. Please share with your friends, relatives, your boss, anybody. The Haitian people need your help than ever to feed these people victims of hurricane Matthew, and later help them to build their little house back to gain their dignity.
This cause is ours; let’s together lift it with Star of Hope.
