Helping children become godly men and women, so they can change their world.
That’s what you have done this past year through your support of Star of Hope. Whether you sponsor a child, helped fund a project or have made a general gift, you have made a difference, and I appreciate it greatly.
As I write this, across the world, the thousands of children we help and their families are preparing to celebrate Christmas. With your support, we have been able to make sure they have heard the true Christmas message. For most of them Christmas isn’t about receiving “things” and getting “stuff”. Rather they love to hear the story of how God loved them so very much He sent His own Son, Jesus.
They find it easy to relate to being born in a barn, as most of them were birthed at home, many in simple houses that are no more than a “barn” or “shed”. They understand that the birth of a child is special as they have been there for the birth of their brothers and sisters. They get to celebrate those births. When we talk about the shepherds coming to celebrate the birth of Jesus, they understand it in ways we do not.
Christmas helps me put things in perspective. It reminds me of why I do what I do each day. It reminds me of how much I appreciate your support which sustains Star of Hope as we work to help these children.
As I look forward to 2015, I believe we must do more to help these children grow into men and women that God can use to make a real difference. I am committed to make that happen.
